Twas the day after Christmas...

...and all through our home the chaos of Christmas no longer abounds. The wrappings are packed up, the gifts put away, the children are napping, this is my kind of day!!
Okay so I'm not Clements. I tried. I love the day after Christmas with the start of our week long vacation together. James always gets this week off and it is great. Not saying I don't totally enjoy Christmas and celebrating Christ's birth, but there is something about today. It is usually a quiet, easy going day. No pressure to get stuff done, just sit back and enjoy being with the kids and playing with their new things.
Christmas Day was wonderful. It was full of Johnson's plus a set of Turners and Broderson's. With a few drop ins during the day. Dinner was great. MMMM...stuffed myself yet again. Pumpkin pie with lots of whipped cream, Turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy. Oh how I love the holidays!! Everyone had a very good time and enjoyed a good visit. I think the kids got a lot of neat stuff and really enjoyed playing with their new toys. Christmas lasted from Noon on the 24th until about 7 last night. We really enjoyed seeing everyone. First we open presents at Grandpa and Grandma Johnson's then it was on to the motel to visit with Grandpa Don and Grandma Bea. We visited with Uncle Mike, Aunt Becky and their kids while we were there. Then it was home to check on Dad and on to Grandma Nita's to open more gifts and eat more food. At her house we saw Uncle Rod & Aunt Leanne with Joy, Meagan, and Eric, Uncle Chris & Aunt Becky with Katie and Ethan. Melina and Aaron with their two boys. Levi, Jeremiah and me. And of course Grandma Nita. I think that was all. Since James was ill we took lots of pictures everywhere we went so he can see what we did and who was there.
It took awhile after getting home to finally convince Jeremiah to go to sleep so Santa could come visit. So it was kind of a late night. But it was really a great day for me and Jeremiah!! Can't say the same for my wonderful hubby. But that is a story I refuse to write about!!! Bye for now, hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!!
